The crew here at Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is always excited to present for sale, on consignment, this stunning 1931 Ford Model A Highboy. In the 2005 edition of Krause Publication's American Hot Rods book, you will find this very car featured in it. Not only is this Model A famous, it's reported to us as being all Henry Ford steel that has been chopped 3 inches!
The not so subtle modifications done to this Ford are timeless, making you wonder if it was built yesterday or decades ago. The Pete and Jakes chassis features a Ford 9", a Pete and Jakes Super Bell front end, So Cal Buick fake Drum Brakes up front housing Wilwood disc brakes, a Cross Steer Flaming River Vega Box, 15x6 Gennie wheels up front, 15x8 Gennie wheels in the rear wrapped in BF Goodrich Silvertown Wide White Wall tires.
Power is coming from a 425 cubic inch Buick Nail Head V8 featuring 6 Stromberg 97 carburetors, Weiand Drag Star intake, Sanderson Lime Fire headers and custom exhaust by Nightmare Street Rods. A Turbo 350 automatic transmission is engaged by a B&M shifter for an effortless cruising experience.
The custom yellow paint, green flames, green wheels, pop out windshield and checkerboard firewall just round out an amazing overall build. Don't sleep on the chance to pick up an all steel Model A at a price we've seen well built fiberglass bodies going for! Reach out to our sales staff today and thank you for looking! We have visited with the man who built this car and he offered to let us pass his contact info on to the new owner so you can learn all about the entire story on this build!
